"Jusrt a kid from Queens"

The founder of Destination Dumplings is self-described as "Just a Kid From Queens". He hails from the dumpling capital of the borough… Flushing. 

 Chef Tristan Chin-Fatt has used his unique and different talents to help grow Destination Dumplings into an exciting pop-up in every corner of their beloved city.

 

Chef Tristan has a unique cultural heritage which is reflected in his dumplings. Tristan is Chinese-Jamaican  and the concept for Destination Dumplings began as a way to showcase food from both his and his wives’ culture and progressed into a more modern approach to eating dumplings.

 He has over 15 years of restaurant industry experience, their food and beverage knowledge ranges from Japanese, New American, Mexican, Italian and French.

 

They have managed at such restaurants as Morimoto, El Vez, and Caffe Storico. The borough of Queens being one of the most culturally diverse places in the world, allowed his palette to be influenced by a multitude of cuisines from a young age. His passion to seek out new flavors and food, combined with a deep love for cooking has led to the creation of an exciting array of flavors found in his dumplings. 

Our goal is to provide combine traditional dumpling cooking methods with new flavors and presentation. The influence of flavors is drawn from many cultures and countries, our style is a representation of not only his own mixed heritage but the city which he grew up in and still lives today.
